Reasonable care is taken to ensure the accuracy of information provided on this Website, however we are not responsible for misprints, out-of-date information, technical or pricing inaccuracies, typographical or other errors appearing on this website or any other website. Information and related materials are subject to change without notice.
The term “us” , “we” or “our” refers to the buisness.
The term “you” or “your” refers to the user of our website or customer of our buisness.
The term “goods” refers to items such as motorcycle spares, helmets, clothing and other small items and does not include vehicles.
General
- Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply for finance on this website, any applications under this age will be contacted and removed.
- We are not a breakdown service & manufacturers warranties do not include breakdown cover. Any vehicles that need collected are subject to a charge of 50p per mile to IV30 6AA. Most insurance companies provide breakdown cover as standard so we advise you check to see if you have this level of cover included in your insurance agreement.
Financing A New/Used Vehicle
We pride ourself in being one of the best supplier’s of affordable deals from finance companies. We try to ensure that you get the best possible deal while looking for your very first, brand new or used vehicle. As we use multiple finance companies we inform all customers that they’re information can be passed to other finance companies/brokers via the online application form if it is declined by our prime lender.
We hold all customer orders & information on a secure server that is linked to our website, all your information is 100% secure and is not distrubuted in any way other than giving information to finance companies.
Delivery of Goods & Vehicles
First and foremost, we only ship vehicles to mainland of England, Scotland & Wales but can in some cases meet at ferry ports and can deliver to shipping companies for Shetland & Orkney Delivery. Goods (Excluding Vehicles): We take the upmost care in delivering your goods to you in a reasonable timeframe and in perfect condition, however we do not accept liability for damaged goods as they are delivered by a 3rd party company. If any goods do arrive damaged please contact us with your invoice number & a picture of the packaging and any damage to the item.
Vehicles: The utmost care is taken to ensure all vehicles are in perfect condition prior to transport but in a very few cases damage can occur in transit. If this is the case queries or concerns regarding the vehicle upon delivery must be brought to our attention immediately and shown to the courier delivering the vehicle who will take notes. Ensure you have photographic evidence to support the claim. We can then work with the transportation company to resolve the issue as quickly as possible at little inconvenience to yourself.
Delivery Times – Goods – Clothing/Accessories & Parts
Our shipping department aim to ship your goods the very same day that you place the order, in some cases this is not possible. If the goods are not in stock we will order them from the supplier which can take 2-4 days to arrive depending on supplier. All goods are dispatched the day they arrive with us either via Royal Mail Signed For (1st class), My Hermes, DPD and other couriers.
The companies aim is to have your goods with you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Goods must be signed for on receipt. Please note, that we cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery or loss by the courier, however we will help as much as we can.
To enable your enquiry to be handled swiftly, please be prepared to quote your invoice number & date of purchase.
Delivery Times – Vehicles
Currently our prefered motorcycle courier quotes up to 7 business days for delivery of the vehicle throughout the UK. This means that from the day after it has been booked you should be waiting no more than 9 days (weekends are excluded but can be delivered on Saturdays & Sundays during busy periods). Vehicles are booked in ONLY once all the following criteria have been made:
- Deposit Paid (if applicable).
- Balance Paid (finance or personally).
- PDI complete and the inspectors are happy.
- Successful Road Test has been carried out.
The motorcycle courier will contact you directly regarding your delivery, they are not part of our company so we cannot give you further information than you obtain from them. Sometimes vehicels break down, or the weather can create unwanted delay. The logistics in delivering vehicles throught the UK is a complicated process, so please be patient.
Returning Goods – Clothing/Accessories & Parts
Goods will only be accepted back if you have the original receipt. We must be notified within 7 days of you receiving your goods. If you need to return an item it must be in perfect condition, in original packaging and it must be sent via Recorded Delivery only at the buyers expense, within 30 days of purchase. You must send the product with the original invoice and stating why you are requesting a refund.
If the wrong part is ordered and it is the fault of the customer or if you have changed your mind once you have received the item, we reserve the right to offer an exchange. This does not affect your statutory rights. We are reasonable people though and treat each return with the attention it requires.
Returning faulty goods. We request that all customers get in touch with us as soon as they feel they have a faulty item. We will deal with each case individualy and give each the attention required. We do request all faulty products are returned at the expense of the buyer, and upon confirmation of fault a full refund will be given or exchange, including the cost of the return carriage. Customers MUST get in contact with us before returning an item, we will allocate you a returns number and advise you of the courier service to use based on your goods. Do not use a premium carraige service, doing so will result in only a partial shipping charge.
Returning or Cancelling Vehicles
If you are requesting a refund after vehicle registration and prior to delivery, then a £200 fee will be deducted from the price of the vehicle due to the vehicle being pre-registered (used), admin fees & other expenses such as DVLA costs. This includes any financed vehicle, we will only cancel a finance application once the fee is recieved and the V5 has been returned to us. In most cases we deduct any fee from the original deposit.
Regarding returning a vehicle you have previously purchased from ourselves. We achknowledge the sales of goods act 1979 however this has been succeeded by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Under this act you are entitled to return the bike/scooter only if there is a major fault within 30 days that cannot be rectified within a reasonable timeframe to yourself and us as a buisness. Upon return of the vehicle, it must be in excellent condition, we will accept general wear & tear at our discretion. If there are any damages to parts on the vehicle, you will be 100% liable to pay for the cost of these parts to be replaced or professionally repaired before your refund will be processed.
we are not required by law to re-imburse any customer who has owned their vehicle for more than 30 days or completed 500 miles.
The cost of returning the vehicle is met by the customer, we can arrange collection of the vehicle for £165 which has to be paid in advance.
Liability
We are not liable for and will not accept any liability under the following;
- Clothing, Accessories & Parts delivered damaged (Please view “Delivery of Goods”)
- Vehicles that have been damaged in transit by a third party courier
- Any use that you have of the vehicle after taking ownership is solely down to the discretion of yourself. Motorcycles, if used incorrectly can be dangerous.
- If your vehicle suffers a fault we are not required to collect the vehicle free of charge nor pay for any labour charges involved in repairing the vehicle.
Cookies
A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns.
BikingDirect uses cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of our website, and their website access preferences. Shipping & Returns (Excluding Bikes & Scooters)
We aim to have your order with you within 7 business days. If you have to return an item which is incorrectly ordered due to any reason other than faulty then the buyer pays the return postage costs – we can arrange a collection at the customers expense. If the item is faulty then we request that customer returns the item at their expense for which we reimburse once the faulty item has been received and confirmed as faulty. reimbursement will usually be in the same payment method originally paid for by the customer.
Non faulty returns have to be in the original packaging with all tags and labels on and in the new condition it was sent out as and with a copy of the receipt.
